Many Kansas rural communities find it difficult to locate and acquire funds and other resources to improve the quality of life for their citizens. Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Councils work through a council of local citizens to find resources (such as grants, loans, additional partners) to benefit rural communities to improve environmental, social, and economic conditions throughout the State
RC&D's purposes are:
To promote conservation, development, and use of natural resources
To improve the general level of economic activity
To enhance the environment and standard of living in communities
