NRCS has received $150 million for nationwide obligation of WFPO funds in FY2019: draft proposals due July 15

CASPER, Wyo., July 1 -- Draft proposals for FY2019 Watershed and Flood Prevention Operations funds are due July 15.

Natural Resources Conservation Service has received $150,000,000 for nationwide obligation of WFPO funds in FY2019 for existing watershed project sponsors or partners and potential (new) proposed watershed projects. 

The competitive distribution of these funds will be based on balancing the needs within (a) existing approved Public Law 83-566 (PL566) watershed areas; (b) remediation of existing structures (none in Wyoming); and (c) proposed (new) watershed project areas.

Proposals must be developed following the FY2019 WFPO Proposal Announcement Guidance found here

The FY2019 WFPO proposal template can be downloaded from our website here to assist in formulating a competitive proposal. The template provides ranking criteria and other descriptive notes to give proposals the best chance of being funded.

A draft of all proposals (pdf or Word), including remedial work, project backlog and new projects, must be submitted to the NRCS-Wyoming office by July 15, 2019 to chuck.schmitt@usda.govA courtesy review of the draft will be completed by NRCS-WY.

Final proposals are due to NRCS-WY (same email above) by Noon, July 18, 2019. Proposals will be uploaded to the National Sharepoint Link.
