When Patrick and Diane Luther purchased 38 acres of Glocester, RI woodland, they intended to develop house lots for their family. Jobs and school took their kids down other roads, so when NRCS contacted them about protecting the land with a conservation easement, they were very interested.

USDA announces funding for floodplain easements in Johnston

NRCS, the town of Johnston and RIACD have signed an agreement for Emergency Watershed Protection Program funding to buy floodplain easements on properties affected by flooding on Belfield Drive.

Rhode Island USDA staff exceed food donation goal

Rhode Island USDA Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service employees rallied to donate 675 pounds of food to the Rhode Island Food Bank as part of the annual Feds Feed Families food drive. The donation surpassed previous years’ efforts.
